Philippines: Republic Act No. 10173 (Data Privacy Act of 2012)

If you operate in the Philippines, the collection and processing of personal data—including health information—should follow RA 10173, its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and issuances of the National Privacy Commission (NPC). That includes transparency, purpose limitation, proportionality, security, and respect for data subject rights.

Role of your clinic or facility

Each dental clinic or facility using the software is typically responsible for informing patients, staff, and other data subjects how their information is used, for obtaining consent where consent is the appropriate basis, and for designating a Data Protection Officer when NPC rules require it.

How the software helps

The product includes features such as configurable consent text for patient registration aligned with common RA 10173 expectations. Text and workflows must still be reviewed and approved for your organization before reliance.

International standards

If you serve patients or processors in other countries, additional rules may apply (for example the GDPR in the European Union, or HIPAA and state privacy laws in the United States for covered entities and business associates). Map your actual data flows and sign the appropriate agreements; do not infer compliance from marketing copy alone.
